Giveaway - Behind the Albergue Door

Review - Behind the Albergue Door: Inspiration Agony Adventure on the Camino de Santiago

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. I knew that I would never hike the Spanish pilgrimage route of the Camino de Santiago. I would like to travel to Spain one day. I found this book to be 2 in 1. There was an awesome story as well as sound advice.

The story: The author did not spare details when describing this journey. His fascinating memoirs had me wondering what would happen next. I enjoyed hearing about the meals, albergues, and fellow hikers. It made me wonder if this trek is something I'd like to add to my bucket list.

The advice: The words of wisdom shared regarding clothing, money, electronics, etc can apply to anyone planning an outdoor adventure. I never thought that a poncho would be better than a backpack cover.

My conclusion: It's a great read for someone wishing to escape a while, whether virtually or in reality.

Spotlight - Jefferson's Story

I met Missy a few years ago when we were scout leaders together. At that time, I found out that she was pregnant with her daughter, Stella. A few months ago, I was thrilled to hear Missy announce that she was pregnant with a boy. At one of her prenatal appointments, Missy found out that her baby had a heart defect. She then began a blog to share her journey. Jefferson was born just over a week ago. When Missy saw his face, she knew that Jefferson has down syndrome. I have followed the story of Missy and Jefferson and the rest of their family and it touches my heart. I hope it touches you as well.

No-bake Lemon Pie

My cousin Jana and I love Lemon Meringue Pie. I'm always looking for other lemon desserts. My mother in law served this for a family dinner. I loved it and plan to make this lemon pie for Thanksgiving instead of Lemon Merinque pie.
Lemon Lush Pie
1 graham cracker crusts
8 oz cream cheese, room temp
1/2 c sugar
1 sm instant lemon pudding
1 3/4 cups milk
12 oz cool whip
Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Spread over bottom of crust and set aside. Whisk lemon pudding and milk until combined. Pour over cream cheese layer. Chill for at least 1 hour. Top with whipped topping. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Alternative option:
Prepare graham crust in 9x13 pan. Double the recipe.

Recipe - No bake energy bites

Rich and I are SLOWLY moving towards healthier eating. We love no-bake cookies. These are a healthier option. We don't like as much flax seed as what the recipe calls for. I add some extra oatmeal and coconut flakes to compensate.

1 cup dry oatmeal
1/3 cup coconut flakes
1/2 cup nut butter (combination of peanut butter, almond butter, nutella, etc.)
1/3 cup honey
1/2 cup ground flax seed
1 tsp vanilla

Combine all ingredients. I put it in the microwave for 25 seconds to make it easier to combine. Mix well. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour. Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls.

Makes 24 balls.

Review - Job Interview guide

I am pretty settled in at my current company and don't plan on leaving anytime soon. I do, however, apply for internal positions on a regular basis. The interview portion is most intimidating for me. The interviewers are usually people that I interact with often. I have a difficult time switching gears and focusing on presenting my goals. I appreciate the insight provided in Job Interview - What You Ought To Know. There were so many things discussed that I didn't realize were important. I often struggle with the question about my weaknesses. When I read this book, I realized that preparation can go a long way to answer these difficult questions. I also like the idea of a "cheat sheet" to help you with prior experience that can relate to the position. The different viewpoints shared assist in making any person a well-rounded interviewee.

Product to review: 60 Printable Christmas Party Games Packet

Christmas is a time for family and friends to enjoy each other's company. There are many Christmas parties between work, church, family etc. They all seem to have the same "white elephant" type games. Personally, it gets boring to do the same thing every year.

I was then introduced to the 60 Printable Christmas Party Games Packet. My eyes were opened to so many opportunities for games and activities to involve everyone. The trivia's are my favorite. I love learning new things about this traditional holiday. I can't wait to share the Christmas jokes with my boys. I hope to bring something special to the parties I attend this year and am grateful for this packet to help make it that much better.

Review - Cane Expressions

One of my co-workers has MS. She is a single mom of 2 children. She is only 28. There are days when getting out of bed is an accomplishment for her. There was a day where she was barely walking through the office. I told her that she needed a cane. She agreed but said she needed a cute one. I then introduced her to the Cane Expressions cane cover. She was thrilled to have this option to make her cane not seem so boring and only for "old people." I had honestly not thought of her when I was approved for this review. These covers are wonderful for the younger generations who have medical conditions that compromise their mobility.

CareRing Cover- review

My original wedding ring was small and low budget but much loved. I didn't care as much what I was doing when I wore it. I got a new wedding ring for Valentine's day. This new ring is bigger and cost quite a bit more. I am very cautious with my activities while wearing my new ring. I had been taking it off for cleaning and gardening. I always had the fear that I'd misplace my ring. When I got this CareRing Cover, I was thrilled. I wore it when coloring fondant for a cake. I wore it when building shelves with my husband in the garage. Gone were my worries of scratching or losing my new ring.

I love the color choices too. It will help me find the cover when in need. I wear a size 7.5 ring and noticed that the 9-10 size cover fit me better. I think it is due to the large crown of my ring.

I was discussing the CareRing Cover with my dad and he thought it would be a great option for the nurses at the hospital. The nurses have some beautiful rings. Dad said the clear cover would protect the beauty but still let it be seen.

This is a wonderful product that I share proudly with my family and friends.

2 Skate Into Fun Children's Picture Book - Review

2 Skate into Fun was wonderful. I enjoyed the inspiration for children. I love the options for what to be when you grow up. This will be a staple in my library.

The illustrations were perfect for the story that was told. This story is very appropriate for the 2-7 age range. It teaches values as a young child enjoys the pictures.

Anabella Giggles All Day! - picture book review

I found this book to have a great message in the story. Anabella's best friend was upset with Anabella's giggling. Anabella understood more when the tables were turned on her.

Review of Focus Hair Building Fibers

Most of the reviews that I do are something for me. This time, I found something for my sweet husband. He wasn't too thrilled but agreed to be my guinea pig. I wasn't sure how these fibers were going to make a difference in his hair. I followed the brief instructions on the bottle. I was amazed at the difference. His hair looked natural and fuller.

I used this:

Ergonomic Pen Review

A few years ago I was in a car accident. I injured my left hand. I am left handed so it was difficult to do every day things. Since that time, I struggle with writing for long periods of time without pain. I was excited to try this ergonomic pen.
I have been using it for a while and don't notice the fatigue in my hand as much. I am able to write in my journal without issue. I would recommend trying this Comfort pen

Review of Immortal Energy

I work an extremely early shift. I get up at 315 every morning. I have a hard time getting up and going. I requested to review the immortal energy pills to see if I could get an edge on my exhaustion. I took the pills each morning at approximately 430. I was hoping for an instant boost. I had read that these pills would not act like an energy drink. On day one, I didn't notice anything. Day 2, was a bit better. My last day was when I noticed a huge difference. I usually take a nap every day after work. On the 3rd day, I didn't feel the need for a nap. I would definitely recommend immortal energy. If you work an odd shift, this supplement is something that would work well to help you get through your day.
