Pinewood Derby 2014

I was on the Pinewood Derby committee and was in charge of decorations. The night was a blast. My boys loved racing especially once they were able to tweak their cars!

Webelos - Pinewood Derby preparations

Rich and I have been called as Webelos leaders in our ward. We love it especially since the twins are 10 now and they'll be able to join us this summer. Our Pinewood Derby is this week and I have spent lots of time preparing decorations for our event. I thought I'd share a few:

Spotlight - Sweet Baby Kyle

I met Kristen over 10 years ago when working at Cracker Barrel. We reconnected a few years ago when I found out that she lives right next door to my cousins. It's a small world after all.... Kristen has an older son Ry and now this new baby Ky. Kyle was born with some heart issues that will require surgery within the next few months. Kristen and Jason have set up a site since so many of their friends and family have asked how they can help.

A-RX Weight Loss Review

This year I have realized that I really need to focus on getting healthier and losing weight. I applied for the A-RX Weight Loss Review as a way to kick start the weight loss. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I love trying new recipes and experimenting with different toppings. I was excited for the blueberry syrup review. Caramel Matchaccino Review.

About 16 months ago, I was injured at work. I was putting shelving away and on of the solid wood shelves fell about 6 ft to the ground and landed on my foot. Review of Caramel Matcha Green Tea Powder

Winter is the season that I love to try new warm drinks. When I saw the matcha green tea powder, I was intrigued. I prepared the caramel matcha cold and warm and liked them both ways. I look forward to ordering more matcha tea powder  There are several flavor and tea options on their website. I am having a hard time deciding what I want to try next.

Crepes - New recipe and pan

I love crepes. They are a family favorite both in my family and that of my husbands. I have been searching for a good crepe pan for quite a while. My husband bought me the new Orgreenic fry pan and I love it. I followed the instructions for seasoning before my first use. I made eggs the other day and realized that this pan would be ideal for crepes. I searched on pinterest for a great crepe recipe and found this one.I always "tweak" recipes a bit to make them my own. 

Basic Crepe Recipe

1 1/2 cup milk (I used evaporated milk instead)

2 T canola oil

3 eggs

1 1/2 cups flour

1/8 t salt

paper towels or waxed paper to put in between crepe layers

Put all the ingredients in a blender in the order listed.  Cover and process at high speed

until smooth.  With a spatula, scrape the sides of the blender down a few times so that everything is incorporated. (I don't have a full sized blender so I used my handmixer on high speed. I then let the batter rest for about an hour or two in the refrigerator before use.

If using a  8" or 9"skillet:

Pour in about 1/4 cup batter into the very warm skillet (medium to medium-high heat) and quickly rotate the pan to move the batter all around forming a very thin 'pancake' on the bottom of the pan. When the edges pull away from the side of the pan it's time to flip. Take a knife or spatula and gentle lift crepe up to loosen it. Flip it over and  let the other side get a moment of heat. When finished, stack cooked crepes with waxed paper or paper towel between layers.

Review of Immortal Sleep

For the past year, I have been working at 4am. Try as I may, I cannot get to bed at 8pm as required to help me get a full nights sleep. When I do go to bed, I then have a hard time falling asleep. Review of Premium Solid Cordz

 In my bedroom, there are not enough outlets on the wall where my bed is. We have 1 power strip for both sides of the bed. This power strip is used for lamps, clocks and of course, our chargers, among other things. I was excited to review these Premium Solid Cordz so that all items could be plugged in at once. I also like the 1 foot length for under our bed to help extend the cords a bit. Would I recommend this product to anyone? Most definitely!!!
