In our family room, we have our large television as well as our blu-ray player and xbox. I was interested to try the Gold Plated with Ethernet cords to see if I noticed any differences in the quality of the picture. Honestly, I didn't notice any improvements. I don't know if it would make a difference for someone who has satellite or cable TV. It's a nice quality cord but I don't see the advantage of the gold plate.
