Over the past year, I have been in charge of the family finances. This is not a role that I had previously held. Not even as a single person. I used to just think that everything would work itself out. I became deep in debt. I dealt with judgments and write offs and my credit was destroyed. My sweet husband has done his best to help me rebuilt my credit and financial standing. I now look for any help I can to teach me more about financial responsibility. I chose to review "Debt Solutions That Work" as a part of this learning process. There are 4 chapters in this book: Common Causes of Debt, Analyzing your Debt, Debt Prevention Tips and Debt Management Options. I appreciated the break down. My favorite chapter was on Debt Prevention. I try very hard to track our spending and bills. I learned that there needed to be a record to help identify and unnecessary spending that could be applied to debt. This book is a must read for anyone, including teens and especially young adults.

I was hesitant to apply for this book review. My childhood was complete with two loving parents. I didn't know how or if I could relate. I decided that maybe I would be able to recognize signs in someone else and be able to help them. I began to read "Invisible Witness: How I Overcame My Family's Legacy of Domestic Violence" with an open mind. My heart ached for this little girl and what she was a witness to. It made me think of my first marriage. I then read with the thought that I needed to learn more since my former husband was emotionally and mentally abusive. The author Lisa Kroulik held nothing back. I appreciated her candor and honesty. This book is a must read for anyone.

I love Christmas and all things associated with this holiday. I was excited for the approval to review Murgatroyd's Christmas Club Ebook. I have tried several times to read this book but cannot get beyond the first few pages. This story was not interesting. I was unable to read the full story. It was too boring for me.

Anabella Giggles All Day! - picture book review

I found this book to have a great message in the story. Anabella's best friend was upset with Anabella's giggling. Anabella understood more when the tables were turned on her.

The illustrations were perfect for the story that was told. This story is very appropriate for the 2-7 age range. It teaches values as a young child enjoys the pictures.

Review of "My Not-So-Ordinary Life" by Christine Rice.

This book grips readers from the beginning. The early years of author Christine Rice were not easy. It seemed like every time things started to go her way, she would hit a wall and eventually rock bottom. Christine is very brave to describe her trials in such detail. It can be difficult to rehash the past but is also helpful in the healing process. I commend this author for opening up and sharing her struggles. This story is sure to inspire others that they can rise above and become the person they were meant to be.

'Too Much Information', all new technothriller by David Haskell - Review

The groundwork laid in the first half of "Too Much Information" was very detail oriented. So many couples are working these days that a conflict of interest of being on separate sides may occur. The relationship of this boyfriend and girlfriend was put to the test when they chose opposing sides of a class action lawsuit. I appreciate the willingness of this lawyer to take on corporate America for assist an employee with wrongful termination. This story took many unexpected twists and turns, some of which were hard to follow.  As our national security becomes more of an issue, this type of system doesn't seem too out of the ordinary. The story line of "big brother" always watching us is extremely true to life in recent years.

Review of Spirit of Lost Angels by Liza Perrat

The story of Victoire Charpentier was gripping. Reading of her struggles during the French revolutions, made this book difficult to put down. From the death of her mother and father and twin siblings, Victoire's quest for greatness was met with much struggle and heartache. The birth of her sweet Rubie had to be bittersweet. As a birthmother, I know of the decision making process that goes behind choosing a better life for your baby. Victoire was finally able to rise above her poverty thanks to a dear friend. As a playwright, Victoire took her political views to the stage. She knew of the danger that her life was in due to her connections and plays.

The author, Liza Perrat, paid close attention to detail in her description of the sights and smells of this early revolutionary time. I look forward to future books in this series.
